Woman Caught Having Sex Outside Stockton Poundland Sentenced in Court

A woman has been sentenced after engaging in a public sex act outside a Poundland store in Stockton.

Amanda Hindmarsh, 45, appeared before Teesside Magistrates’ Court where she admitted to outraging public decency by having sexual intercourse in a public place. The incident took place on April 22 outside 137 High Street — the location of Stockton’s Poundland, which occupies the former New Look premises.

Hindmarsh, of Teesway, Stockton, also pleaded guilty to failing to surrender to court bail for a scheduled hearing on May 13.

During sentencing at Middlesbrough court, magistrates imposed a four-week custodial sentence for the public indecency offence, suspended for six months. The court noted there is potential for rehabilitation in Hindmarsh’s case.

She was also given a further two-week jail term, also suspended for six months, for failing to attend her earlier court date.

Magistrates stated that the offences were serious enough to warrant a custodial sentence, pointing out Hindmarsh’s clear disregard for previous court orders.
